ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Three local organizations Wednesday announced an "equity collaboration" in an attempt to improve wellness for Black and Hispanic people in Rochester.

The YWCA, Aenon Missionary Baptist Church and Coordinated Care Services are working together to provide a year-long program addressing the "social determinants" of health.

The organizations say more than 500 people are participating in the program which will include 24 workshops aimed at spreading information on support and health resources.

"We’re going to start our media campaign and the campaign will involve a wide reach to both single parents male or female individuals."

This project was inspired by the recommendations of the Monroe County Mental Health and Substance Abuse Disorder 90-Day Task Force.
