ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police Friday arrested a man in the deadly crash involving a stolen vehicle that happened near the Corn Hill neighborhood on Sunday.

The crash happened on Whittlesey Street near the corner of Seward Street. Police say a stolen vehicle that was going extremely fast hit a civilian vehicle. 36-year-old Tishara Pugh, a mother of five, was killed and a man is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Police say the driver of the stolen vehicle ran from the scene and the three people who were in the stolen vehicle and were hospitalized with significant injuries have been released since the crash.

On Friday at around 6 p.m., police say they arrested 20-year-old Taj Isaish-Joshua McMillan-Harris without incident. He was charged with second degree manslaughter and four counts of second degree assault in connection to the crash. Police say additional charges may be considered by a Monroe County Grand Jury.

Police say he was driving at least 80 mph when he hit Pugh’s vehicle and that he is currently on probation for a robbery and grand larceny conviction.

As of Friday night, McMillan-Harris was being evaluated at the hospital for a complaint of pain, as police say he never sought treatment after the crash.

Police say, depending on when he’s released, he will either be arraigned on Saturday or Monday.
