ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — McQuaid Jesuit's cross country team held its annual relay Friday with COVID-19 restrictions in place.
The normally 25-hour relay was shortened to 12 hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
While they weren't able to complete their usual goal, they had a new one: 109 miles on Oct. 9.
The relay is held every year to help bond the team and raise money for a good cause.
This year the team ran for McQuaid's director of communications.
"It means a lot to them, it means a lot to us to know we're raising money for someone to help with medical bills or whatever it means a lot, it's really important," senior Connor Kerr said.
Sean Mullen was diagnosed with extremely rare bone cancer earlier this year.
Thankfully, he has since been declared cancer-free.
