Man dies after crash on Scottsville-Chili Road

CHILI, N.Y. (WHEC) — Deputies are investigating a fatal head-on crash on Scottsville-Chili Road in Chili.

Deputies responded to the scene around 5:15 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Scottsville-Chili and Old Scottsville-Chili roads.


The driver in the southbound vehicle that was struck by an oncoming vehicle has died, deputies said Tuesday morning. The other driver is listed in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital. 

Deputies say the man who died was Robert Keeley, 68, Caledonia. They have not released the name of the other driver, who is still in Strong Memorial Hospital in guarded condition.

No charges have been filed, but deputies say the investigation is ongoing. 

Scottsville-Chili Road was shut down in both directions between Route 252 and Old Scottsville-Chili Road for several hours but reopened just before 11 p.m. Monday.
