Memorial AME Zion Church holding first holiday food drive

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The food pantry at the Memorial AME Zion Church is hosting its first holiday food drive this season and it’s asking for your help.

The pantry is called Beyond the Sanctuary.

It’s collecting non-perishable holiday foods that will be used for holiday baskets and inviting the community to drop off the items they buy on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 549 Clarissa St.

Beyond the Sanctuary is looking for non-perishable items including gravy in cans or jars, canned cranberry sauce, boxed potatoes, applesauce, canned fruit and vegetables including potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, and green beans, marshmallows, cake mix and frosting, muffin and bread mix, stuffing mix, canned or boxed broth, ready-to-bake pie crusts and canned pie filling, canned soup, macaroni and cheese kits and rice.
