ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County's department of motor vehicles does not yet have a reopening date, but it is expanding its remote services.
On March 31, the DMV launched a mail-in option for vehicle registrations and plate transfers.
It's now been able to expand that to people who are looking to register boats, motorcycles and trailers.
County Clerk Jamie Romeo told us today when the DMV does reopen, it's going to look a little different.
"We are going to have new barriers set up, we're going to have a new appointment system, and we're going to try to limit the number of people in a confined space, which is why we want people to know about and utilize these mail-in options," Romeo said.
Anyone who wants to take advantage of these services is encouraged to visit the county's website.
