ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday suspended Monroe County Jail in-person social visitations indefinitely after parts of the county were labeled an Orange Zone.
The sheriff’s office says it’s following a directive issued by the New York State Commission of Correction.
Inmates can still have professional or essential visits, and tele-visits will be available for personal visits. The MCSO says it will also offer additional phone calls at no extra cost.
The MCSO says as of Tuesday afternoon, there are no COVID-19 cases at the jail.
