ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County is using $15 million in CARES Act funding to help small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s part of a program called the Fast Forward Monroe Small Business Grant program, which will provide financial assistance to small businesses with two to 50 full-time employees in industries like retail and dining.
Rep. Joe Morelle (D, NY-25) was there for the announcement.
He says Congress needs to pass another virus relief bill and is frustrated that republicans and democrats can't come to an agreement.
"There are millions of Americans who are struggling and in crisis. That number is only going to continue to grow. Every day that we wait more restaurants will go out of business more small businesses will lose, more families will reach the end of their benefits," Rep. Morelle said.
