ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police in Rochester are investigating after a car reportedly crashed into people fighting on Pierpont Street before heading into a porch.
The Rochester Police Department says that officers arrived around 3 p.m. after reports of a knife fight in the area of Pierpont and Mason Street. In addition, a report had come in that a vehicle had struck some of the fighters before hitting a house. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle, which had crashed into the front steps of the porch of a home.
Two people were injured, a 16-year-old city girl who said she was struck by the vehicle, and a 15-year-old city girl. It is not known if the 15-year-old had been hit by the car. Both were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are still investigating this incident but say they do not yet know if the collisions and crash were a deliberate act. The driver of the car had left the scene by the time police involved, and no one is in custody at this time.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 911.
