ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A homicide investigation is underway after a fatal shooting on Clifford Avenue near Manitou Street and Coleman Terrace on Rochester's north side.
Police say they arrived on the scene after a report of a person shot just after 8 p.m.
Officers found a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
News10NBC crew at the scene report there are several Rochester Police Department cars and state troopers there.
The scene is several blocks long. Clifford Avenue is blocked off from Spiegel Park to about Sixth Street. Police say they expect to be on the scene for at least the next few hours.

Capt. Frank Umbrino says he's frustrated because the city just saw a homicide last night.
"It's especially frustrating because people don't want to tell the truth of why this is happening. It's very frustrating," Umbrino said. "The police can only do so much. We arrest people, they get out of jail, they're given appearance tickets."
