OGDEN, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man was arrested after Ogden Police say he broke into a home on Manitou Road early Wednesday morning while the residents were sleeping, injured one of them and stole jewelry and other valuables.

It happened at around 2:20 a.m. on the 2200 block of Manitou Road. The burglary was happening when police got the call.

Police say he woke one of the victims up and forced them to turn over their possessions, then when another victim woke up and tried to stop him, he shoved both victims to the floor. One of them was hurt.

The suspect ran off before police arrived, but Town of Ogden Police, with the help of Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies and K9s found him about a mile from the home.

Police say Blair Kurt Thomas, 37, was taken into custody without incident and charged with first degree burglary, second degree robbery, third degree grand larceny, fourth degree criminal mischief, second degree assault and second degree harassment.

Police say Thomas has a prior felony conviction, and because of the violent nature of the incident, he was remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $50,000 cash bail/$150,000 secured bond $250,000 partially secured bond.

He is due back in court at a later date.
