Police: Teenager injured in shooting on Dr. Samuel McCree Way

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester teenager was injured in a shooting on Dr. Samuel McCree Way Tuesday night.

Police say they were called to the 100 block at around 10:30 p.m. for a report of a person shot and found a 17-year-old who had been shot at least once in the lower body.

Officers immediately applied a tourniquet and the victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by AMR.

Police say he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Dr. Samuel McCree Way was closed between Jefferson Avenue and Reynolds Street for a time, but police say it has since reopened.

No suspects are in custody. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
