(NBC News/WHEC) — A majority of American adults intend to vote early in person or by mail this year according to a new NBC SurveyMonkey poll out Tuesday morning.

Fifty-two percent of adults say they will vote early, 19% say they will vote early in person and 33% say they will vote by mail.

There's a stark difference in voting plans when broken down by party affiliation.

Fifty-four percent of adults who identify as Republican or lean that way say they will vote in person on Election Day, compared to 22% of Democrats

As for mail-in voting, 50% of Democrats say they plan to vote by mail while only 18% of Republicans say they will mail in their ballots.
