ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Institute of Technology is dealing with a power outage issue on campus Thursday, the university announced.

According to RIT, the issue is impacting multiple residence halls, but no academic buildings are impacted.

To isolate the problem, the college cut power to all of the affected buildings Thursday morning: Baker Hall, Kate Gleason Hall, Fish Hall, Nathaniel Rochester Hall, Sol Heumann Hall, Gibson Hall, the Perkins Green Apartments and Building 99. Work is underway to correct the issue. RIT did not say how long the power will be out, but it will continue to send out updates.

As of 11 p.m. Thursday, RIT Facilities Management Services and outside contractors were still working to repair the damage. The school also installed generators so that the residence halls could have power.
