ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – The Rochester City School District is continuing its ‘Each One, Reach One’ campaign.

On Thursday, the group is sponsoring two events. The first one is at 10 a.m. at Northwest Junior High School at Douglass.

Rochester Police Chief David Smith and community leaders will plant a tree and other greenery.

The other event is at 6 p.m. on Thursday at New Born Fellowship Church on North Clinton Avenue. It will be a community forum with law enforcement leaders that will talk about ways to keep schools safe.

The Each One, Reach One campaign started back in December with the goals of safer schools and creating employment opportunities.

The group reunited on June 1 to strategize ways to keep schools safe in response to the shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde.
