RCSD emphasizes security protocols in light of Buffalo; Texas shootings

ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — Two recent mass shootings in nearby Buffalo and in an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas have prompted RCSD to further point out its security procedures and protocols.

Any visitor is only allowed to enter and leave at each school’s main entrance. They must present a photo ID in order to get a visitor’s pass. Visitors are also subject to search of their person and belongings.

Parents and guardians must call the school office ahead of time in order to arrange an early pick up time.

Any person asked to leave school property must do so immediately, or police intervention will follow. Any suspicious activity is asked to be reported by calling 585-262-8600.

RCSD will also provide counseling and support to students who are having trouble dealing with these recent events.
