ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — This evening parents got to hear from the state monitor appointed to oversee the Rochester City School District.
A virtual public meeting was held with Doctor Shelley Jallow, along with the school superintendent and a representative from the State Education Department.
Last month, the department appointed Jallow to give guidance on the district's academic and money issues.
At the meeting, she discussed her role.
"My core responsibilities are to provide a proposed academic improvement and proposed financial plan for the district no later than the first of November 2020 for the 2021 school year and subsequent school years," Jallow said.
This was the first of three public hearings with her.
The next one is July 8.
