ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester City School District Wednesday told families about a full slate of free learning opportunities planned for this summer.

Summer school programming is planned for more than 20 different locations.

"This summer the Rochester City School District will take over some of the city's most popular attractions, including the Strong Museum of Play, the Rochester Museum and Science Center, the Rochester Red Wings and more," said Superintendent Lesli Myers-Small.

RCSD is also offering the "My Brother's Keeper" program. Launched in 2014, it aims to address the opportunity gaps faced by boys and men of color. The program runs from July 6 through July 30 for students in seventh and eighth grade.

The City of Rochester and Monroe County offer summer camps, youth development, sports and education enrichment programs.

Students are also encouraged to sign up for free summer camps at the Rochester Institute of Technology, which include a college readiness boot camp, summer STEM experience and digital storytelling.

The Rochester Public Library and Monroe County Library System are hosting pop-up activities using the City’s Rec on the Move Bus to take a mobile library to different places across the city.
