ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Sometimes all it takes is a cookie to brighten someone's day.

This week, Rochester Institute of Technology hospitality students were planning on it.

When COVID-19 restrictions kept them from their annual Valentine's Day dinner, students redirected their efforts.

Tuesday, they started baking 1,000 cookies for their heroes at local hospitals.

Students hand-delivered the goods to Strong and Unity hospitals Wednesday.

They hope their efforts inspire others to give back as well.
