ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester's Board of Education Wednesday decided on a plan to help ease worries over violence at schools.

Board President Van White explained how police officers will be used to get that done.

"The plan right now that's going to be proposed to the Board of Education is to continue the outside presence of police officers to say to those bad guys, 'Don't even think about it.' Secondly, to identify areas that don't go to law enforcement," White said. "For example, Pathways to Peace, the PIC team, office of community affairs, the Rec Center."

White said this is not the end of the discussions on violence in the city and its impact on our students.

Board members are planning to initiate community conversations on violence.
