Rochester City Ballet returning for live, in-theater 2021-2022 season

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester City Ballet (RCB) is returning live and in-theater for the 2021-2022 season.

The season will begin with “Who Cares?” a tribute to Gershwin and the romance of Broadway, and “Clowns and Others”, a world premiere by Rochester’s own choreographer, Jamey Leverett. It will run from Oct. 8 to Oct. 10 at The Theater @ Innovation Square in Rochester and at the Fort Hill Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua from Oct. 15 through Oct. 17.

Then, the RCB will bring “The Nutcracker” to Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre from Nov. 24 through Nov. 28 with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. The RCB will also perform it from Dec. 10 through Dec. 12 at the Fort Hill Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua.

In March, the RCB will perform “Carmen”, a world premiere by Artistic Director Robert Gardner. The show will run from March 4 through March 6 at The Theater @ Innovation Square in Rochester and from March 11 through March 13 at the Fort Hill Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua.

Then, later in the spring, the RCB will perform “The Firebird”, a Russian folktale brought to life. It will run from April 29 through May 1 at the Fort Hill Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua and from May 20 through May 22 at the Callahan Theater in the Nazareth Arts Center.
