ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester-area fraternity offered up hot dogs and hamburgers as part of an effort to register voters and fill out more census data.

The Theta Omicron chapter of Omega Psi Phi looked to provide "uplift" to the community on Saturday at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

The event also supported the fraternity's scholarship foundation

"We feel as if coming out here and educating everyone on the importance of voter registration and making sure you fill out your census forms is definitely a key to making sure we get the resources needed here in the Rochester area to make sure that we stay a thriving community," co-organizer Joe Thomas said.
