ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester is the second city to get access to Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA)’s COVID-19 Fresh Food Fund.

PHA is partnering with Foodlink to provide families financially impacted by COVID-19 with boxes of fresh produce that would have otherwise gone to waste.

The boxes are labeled “Fresh Picks” and will be available at Foodlink’s curbside market. Each box will have about 10 pounds of fresh produce inside and will be reasonably priced.

The Produce Marketing Association, New York State Health Foundation and Wegmans, as well as individual donors, have made the program possible.

The program first launched in Denver, where it’s provided 650,000 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables to communities that have been economically impacted by COVID-19.
