ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man was convicted of murder Thursday in the drive-by shooting death of 20-year-old Dakota Podlaski.

It happened on May 27, 2020, at the corner of Magee Avenue and Dewey Avenue.

Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley says Podlaski was caught in the crossfire of the shooting and was not the intended victim.

Jeremiah Barley, 27, was arrested on June 12, 2020.

Thursday, the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office says a jury convicted Barley of second degree murder and two counts of second degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
