ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man was found guilty of murder in the shooting death of Norris Jay back on March 7, 2020.

The shooting happened on Sander Street. Prosecutors say Jay was watching his 10-year-old nephew play outside when Tory Aldridge, 28, shot and killed him.

The 10-year-old saw the murder and prosecutors say a 14-year-old was there, inside the house when it happened.

Aldridge was arrested two months after the shooting.

On Wednesday, a jury found him guilty of second degree murder, two counts of second degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count of first degree reckless endangerment.

Aldridge is scheduled to be sentenced on March 17, 2022.
