ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC has gotten a lot of calls about an increase in fireworks.
Neighbors say they are hearing them nightly across the area, and expressing concerns.
Rochester Police told us Monday, they're here to protect you, and anyone using fireworks should think twice.
"I can only stress that people need to be incredibly careful with fireworks," Deputy Chief Mark Mura said. "They're incredibly dangerous and I would strongly suggest for everybody to, unless you're a professional, and you know what you're doing, do not touch those things and don't use them."
Mura says anyone who sees fireworks or hears fireworks should call 911 and police will investigate.
