ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Police Department Tuesday morning arrested a man who they say is responsible for the shooting in the parking lot behind P.I. Lounge on West Avenue back in November that killed one man and left another man in critical condition.

The shooting happened the night of Nov. 12, 2021. Police say the man who was critically injured is now living with life-altering injuries. The other victim, Stephen Morgan, 39, was shot in the head and pronounced dead on the scene.

During its investigation, the Major Crimes Unit says it learned that more than a dozen shots were fired in the parking lot behind P.I. Lounge and that Morgan was sitting inside a vehicle in the parking lot when it happened and was caught in the crossfire while the vehicle he was in was attempting to back out of the parking lot to avoid the gunfire.

Early Tuesday morning, the Rochester Police Departments SWAT Team and Tactical Unit arrested Corey Faison, 42, and charged him with second degree murder, first degree assault and second degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say a Monroe County Grand Jury could consider more charges.

Faison is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday morning.
