ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police say a juvenile girl was locked inside a corner store and sexually assaulted by the clerks.

Investigators say on Saturday, the victim went to 95 Central Park (at the corner of Scio St.) to buy some groceries. Once inside, they say she was locked inside by two employees who attacked her.

RPD arrested two men without incident and while executing a search warrant, found a stolen Glock 9mm handgun with 48 rounds in a drum-style magazine, along with five pounds of marijuana.

Police believe there may be more victims and asks anyone who has been assaulted or who might know anything, to call 911.

Both men are facing a series of charges, including first-degree rape and weapons and drug charges.

20-year-old Shadad Alghaithy is also a level 2 sex offender, based on a conviction last year for disseminating indecent material to minors.

28-year-old James Hampton is on parole for criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both were arraigned over the weekend and are being held without bail.

“I come in here at least three, three, four times a week. I like to take a walk down the road and they have good-priced cigarettes. So yeah, crazy shot to how this all happened,” William Knox said.

Knox lives near the corner store located on the corner of Central Park and Scio Street and it’s a stop he makes often.

“I came here Saturday and I was hoping to get some cigarettes and I saw the cops shortly after. I’m guessing that they put them all into custody,” Knox said.

Knox said he was horrified when he found out about the assault.

“They were flagged down by the victim and the victim’s family. They describe that a sexual assault that occurred,” Rochester Police Captain Sam Lucyshyn said.

Lucyshyn said the girl came to the store from home to buy various items and that’s when he says the girl was attacked by the two employees.

“Well, to be brutally honest and it made me very angry to see that this can happen to a young girl, it really infuriated me. The other thing, too, is the proximity to a school and the presence of an illegal weapon with large capacity magazines,” Lucyshyn said.

Lucyshyn said both were arrested and officers found a loaded stolen handgun with 48 rounds in a drum style magazine along with 5 pounds of marijuana.

“It would be difficult to speculate on this at this at this time, but five pounds is generally not for personal use,” Lucyshyn said.

According to city documents, the property has six nuisance points for unlawfully dealing with a child in February.
