ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man has life-threatening injuries after a shooting on Rochester’s northeast side.

Police say it happened at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the 800 block of Fernwood Park, which is just a few blocks from Clifford Avenue.

Police say no one was there when they responded, but they did find evidence that someone was injured.

While they were investigating the scene, they say a gunshot victim arrived at Rochester General Hospital by private vehicle.

Police say the victim was 20 years old and he was shot at least once in the upper body.

This is at least the third shooting in Rochester to happen Thursday after two people were shot and killed on Chestnut Street and a man was shot and beaten to death near the RTS Transit Center.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911.
