ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester Police Officer was injured after police say a man threw something at them during an arrest.
It happened just after 3 p.m. Friday at the 800 block of North Clinton Avenue.
Officers were responding to a report of vice activity when they found a man with a semi-automatic handgun.
Police say the man fought with the officers, but they were able to take him into custody after a brief struggle.
While the officers were taking that man into custody, police say another man threw something at an officer, hitting them in the face.
Police say the man who threw the object ran away and was taken into custody at the 100 block of Evergreen Terrace.
Kadeem Pryor, 30, of Rochester was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Calvin Campbell, 22, of Rochester was charged with second-degree assault.
The officer sustained minor injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Police say there may be additional charges.
