ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — There was a security breach at the airport Sunday afternoon, temporarily shutting it down and causing a crisis.

The administration at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport reported that someone who didn’t have a ticket was dropping off a relative for an outgoing flight.

That un-ticketed relative went in through an emergency exit door to wait by the gate.

That prompted a brief stop in airport operations until Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies could find that person.

Officials said there was no threat and the person responsible for the breach is cooperating with them.
