Bullets strike room where 14-year-old was sleeping

ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) —Bullets went through a room where a 14-year-old was sleeping on Friday morning.

The Rochester Police Department responded to reports of shots fired around 2 a.m. on Seyle Terrace, just west of Dewey Avenue. Upon arrival, they found that a home with people inside had been struck by multiple bullets. 

There are no suspects in custody and anyone with information was asked to call 911.

With Friday’s shooting, at least eight homes with people inside have been shot-up since Sunday night. The RPD has not confirmed whether there are suspects for any of them. No one was injured in any of these shootings, according to RPD.

  • Tuesday on Arnett Boulevard. The home had five people inside.
  • Tuesday on Ackerman Street and Bay Street. The home had three adults and five children inside, including a 1-year-old. A suspect was charged will illegally possessing a weapon shortly after, but RPD hasn't said if he's a suspect in the shooting.
  • Tuesday on Parsells Avenue. The home with two people inside was first struck around 11 p.m. on Monday, then again six hours later.
  • Monday on Wellington Avenue. The home had people inside including a 2-year-old.
  • Monday on Ackerman Street. The home had four children and two adults inside.
  • Sunday on Bidwell Terrance. The home had three people inside.
  • Sunday at the 300 block of Grand Avenue. The home had five children and three adults inside.
