ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The new snow leopard cub at the Seneca Park Zoo has opened his eyes!

The cub is 19 days old.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello posted an update on the cub’s condition on Facebook Wednesday.

Last week, the zoo announced the cub was battling an infection and had a “tough road” ahead. The still-unnamed cub had to be separated from his mother, Timila, and will be hand-raised going forward.

He said the cub’s respiratory illness has improved thanks to the veterinary staff at the zoo, and he’s starting to eat better.

He promised more updates on the cub as things progress.
