ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — One of the most popular family attractions in the area will soon reopen to the public.
After what museum representatives call a "successful" reopening to its members on June 27, the Strong National Museum of Play will reopen its doors to the public on July 6.
New York state allows museums to operate at a maximum of 25% capacity under Phase Four of the state's reopening plan.
Returning families will notice some differences, including touchless payments, timed tickets, and enhanced sanitation protocols.
Face masks are required for all medically able guests over the age of 2, and museum employees will implement physical distancing measures. The food court will also remain closed. The stairways will be one-way and only one family will ride the elevator at once.
Advanced tickets are recommended. More details can be found on the museum's website.
The Strong also announced its plans to continue virtual programming through the summer. Storybook Summer will take place weekdays from July 6 through Sept. 4. at 10:30 a.m. You can head to the museum’s Facebook page for unique crafts, active play ideas, and videos from special guests — all themed around a different children’s book each week.
