ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC Anchor Deanna Dewberry went In-Depth Thursday night on a new study that shows the impact of nursing home staff being vaccinated.

The research comes from the University of Rochester and Harvard Medical School.

It found a correlation between the vaccination rates of nursing home staff and the death rates of nursing home residents.

When staff vaccination rates were low, residents died of COVID-19 at three times the rate of facilities with the highest staff vaccination rates, even if residents were vaccinated themselves.

The research looked at data from more than 12,000 nursing homes across the country.
