ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Children in the City of Rochester will have dozens of options to pick up free meals all summer long.

The Summer Meals program offers free grab-and-go healthy meals to students after the school year ends.

“Summer is a critical time of year for those we serve – especially this year with so many families experiencing a rise in food insecurity due to the pandemic. The Foodlink Community Kitchen continues to step up to the challenge of nourishing children during this difficult time,” Julia Tedesco, President & CEO of Foodlink said.

With COVID-19 restrictions lifted in New York State, many meal sites are offering opportunities for kids to stay to participate in physical and other enrichment activities this summer.

Many schools began serving meals on June 25, while other sites are set to start on July 6.

the Summer Meals program is available to all city residents who are 18 and younger.
