EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Rochester Police say two brothers are now facing murder charges in connection to the deadly beating and shooting of a Rochester man on Thursday.

Police say Donald and Ronald Brown are now in police custody, but it took hours to get Donald in cuffs following a standoff that shut down several roads in East Rochester Monday morning.

RPD says the two shot, stabbed, and beat up 24-year-old Armani Allen outside the RTS Transit Center on Saint Paul Street around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. Police said the street was busy and crowded at the time of the killing.

Ronald was arrested without incident Sunday night by members of the United States Marshal’s Violent Felony Fugitive Task Force at a home near North Washington Street and West Linden Avenue in East Rochester. Police say Donald stayed in the basement of the home until around 5:15 a.m. Monday when officers were able to execute a search warrant. He was also then taken into custody without incident.

A SWAT team, East Rochester Police, and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office had the area of the home shut down for several hours.

Officers say Donald and Ronald both had multiple prior felony and misdemeanor convictions including some still pending felony charges. Police said during their investigation they found the two had a gun, and because of their felony charges, additional weapons charges could be considered by a Monroe County Grand Jury.

To be clear, police say they did not find the gun during the search warrant, it was found earlier in their investigation. RPD Captain Frank Umbrino said the department is not prepared to say if the gun was used in Allen's murder.

Both brothers are charged with second-degree murder and will be arraigned in Rochester City Court Tuesday morning.
