ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The 2020 Teddi Dance for Love begins Friday.
The annual, 24-hour dance-a-thon raises money for Camp Good Days and Special Times. The proceeds go toward the Teddi Project which raises money to give campers the opportunity to spend a week at amusement parks in Florida.
The event is successful, having raised more than $1 million over the years to help children who have cancer and their families.
“Obviously we try to keep Teddi Mervis alive, continue the living legend and we talk about the families, the general story that goes with the camp as well as Gary and Teddi in general and the tradition that's been built for 38 years,” 2020 Chair of Teddi Dance for Love Tyler Adams said.
More than 500 Saint John Fisher College students, faculty and staff participate in the event and will take to the dance floor beginning at 8 p.m. on Feb. 14 and dance until 8 p.m. on Feb. 15.
The goal this year is to raise $105,000.
