ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The trial of a Fairport man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death in Canandaigua began Monday.
William Fricke is facing multiple felony charges, including murder. Investigators say he kidnapped Julie Baker on Jan. 2, 2020, at her friend's home in Canandaigua. Authorities say Fricke killed Baker during the kidnapping.
Fricke is also accused of attempting to kill 62-year-old Dennis Gruttadaro, the friend and witness, but he survived.
The trial is expected to last about three weeks.
