Two houses hit by gunfire, one man inside shot

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – Rochester Police say two houses were struck by gunfire early Wednesday morning, one of them resulted in a man getting shot.

Just after midnight, RPD responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 100 block of Bernard St. They found that a house had been hit and a 42-year-old man inside had been shot. He was hit once in the lower body and is being treated at Rochester General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Less than an hour later, police responded to a similar incident on PIerpont St. where they also discovered a house had been struck by gunfire. No one inside was injured.

Police do not have anyone in custody and are asking anyone with information to call 911. They did not say if they believe there was any connection between incidents.
