The political and social climate in our country is tense and hard to understand for many adults, but imagine what it must be like for kids.
Kenya Malcolm is a clinical psychologist with UR Medicine, and she shared her insights on what she's been seeing from her younger clients recently, especially those who have been impacted by racism. She also shared advice for parents on how they can help navigate conversations about racism, as uncomfortable as they may be.
She says it's important for parents to not simply wait for the subject of racism to come up with kids, but instead to take initiative and start the conversation deliberately.
