ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Utica man with a long history of bank robberies was sentenced for crimes he committed in Gates and Penfield.

In January, State Police pulled over 28-year-old Nicholas Ferrone.

During a search of his car, troopers found several latex masks, including ones that appear to have been used in three Buffalo and Rochester bank robberies.

In October 2019, Ferrone robbed the Chase Bank on Spencerport Road in Gates.

On Dec. 17, 2019 he robbed the M&T on Panorama Trail in Penfield.

Ferrone was sentenced to more than six years in prison.
