ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Republican Peter Vazquez announced his candidacy for the 138th Assembly District Friday.
Vazquez is a disabled veteran, high school teacher, business owner, and activist who believes his years of community service and leadership make him a good candidate.
“I’m running for state Assembly because partisan politics and out-of-touch representatives have for too long squandered opportunities to focus on life, education and entrepreneurship to enrich our families and neighbors,” Vazquez said. “The moral compass of our community has been tilted by self-serving prevaricators, but we can correct this wrong by ensuring a rightful and needed change of our representation in Albany.”
Assemblyman Harry Bronson, a Democrat, currently holds the seat.
The 138th Assembly District includes the city of Rochester and the towns of Henrietta and Chili.
