WEBSTER, N.Y. (WHEC)—  Webster Police are reporting more stolen vehicles in the area.

In a Facebook post on Friday, the department says its seen at least two cars stolen since it last reported a car theft on Monday, police shared an image of the suspect in connection to that crime.

In both recent cases, a suspect jumped into an unlocked and running car and drove off while the driver was away from the car.

Police say they're following leads and looking for suspects, but urge people to keep a cautious eye out for their surroundings. Specifically, WPD says to look for someone hanging out in a parking lot or nearby sidewalk, they could be wearing a face covering and gloves.

Officers say the thefts are happening in the village, but there is a possibility the crimes are connected to outside Webster.

You're asked to turn off your car and take your keys with you when leaving your car.
