PENFIELD, N.Y. (WHEC) — A woman is seriously injured after a two-car crash in Penfield.
It happened just after 5 p.m. near 1806 Penfield Road.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of a sedan was attempting to cross Penfield Road after leaving a coffee shop when it was struck by a pickup truck.
The driver of the sedan, a 63-year-old woman from Macedon, had to be cut out of the car by the Penfield Fire Department. She was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The pickup truck driver, a 55-year-old Rochester man was taken to Rochester General Hospital after complaining of chest pain.
A lane on Penfield Road was closed for the investigation but has since reopened.
Deputies say drugs and alcohol are not suspected, and the investigation is underway.
