ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The YMCA learned on Tuesday it is not* able to reopen Friday, as they anticipated being a part of Phase Four.
YMCA officials told News10NBC they submitted their reopening plan to the governor’s team seven weeks ago, but still have not received any direction about when they can reopen.
They called the lack of communication disappointing and disheartening.
The YMCA says it has redesigned its facilities to allow for social distancing, created spaces and protocols that exceed CDC and New York State Department of Health guidelines.
The statement concludes, “All we are asking for is information and guidance to help us reopen as safely as possible.”
