ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Neptune came to Lollypop Farm back in December of 2020. He was found emaciated outside in a shopping cart near a dumpster. He was placed in a foster home for several months while he was gaining weight and he has been tried in a few homes but was unfortunately returned. During his stay in the foster home he didn't show any behavior that was concerning to us but did exhibit a little separation distress and some behaviors associated with being weaned too early as a puppy. Overall, he does take a little longer than others to warm up and feel comfortable but once he does he turns into an expert snuggler.

The recommendations for Neptune's success is an adult-only (preferably single occupant) rural home with a fenced-in yard due to his lack of history and behavior needs. He needs someone who has advanced dog experience working with those that have mild to severe behavior issues. We will go over how to introduce him to new people, his behavior needs, and everything we've seen about him up to this point.

If you meet Neptune's recommendations and would like to learn more about him and the process to meet him, please email us at extralove@lollypop.org!
