ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — We finally felt typical late summer warmth on Wednesday, but it is short-lived.
A cold front will move through overnight, increasing our clouds after midnight, and bringing in a few light showers by morning.
We will continue with scattered light rain showers through Thursday morning as the front pushes south. Overall, rainfall amounts will be very unimpressive, with a tenth of an inch or less for most.
The bigger weather story will be the cooler air that follows. Highs on Thursday and Friday will hold in the lower 60s, with upper 50s likely both Saturday and Sunday. High pressure building in will also bring a clear sky. This is the perfect recipe for chilly overnight lows.
Some frost is possible away from Lake Ontario Saturday and Sunday morning, maybe into Monday morning, too. Temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 30s away from any warming influences of Lake Ontario.
On the plus side, we will enjoy beautiful sunshine and dry weather Friday, into the weekend, and most of next week.
