ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Yellow Alert remains in place for the overnight and into the day Saturday.
A few storms rolling in overnight may produce briefly heavy rain and lightning but should remain below severe criteria. Saturday morning starts off dry with some sun, but we'll warm into the 80s, with dew points in the 60s. There may be a few more storms that fire in the afternoon into the early evening hours that could be strong, with gusty winds, locally heavy rain and lightning.
The strongest storms may produce a little bit of small hail. Not everybody will see the storms. In fact, they will be isolated, and more will be "missed" than "hit" by stormy weather. But, any storm that does fire has the potential to pack a punch for about 30 minutes. Regardless of the strength of any storms Saturday, if you have outdoor plans, have a way to get alerts, and be prepared to head indoors for an hour or two if you hear thunder or see lightning.
Keep the First Alert Weather app handy to get any alerts and updates, and to track any storms on radar.
