ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The fall season is fast approaching and that means the leaves are beginning to change.

News10NBC First Alert Meteorologist Alex Bielfeld took a look at the latest foliage report from I Love NY.

Right now, some areas are beginning to change, especially in those higher elevations toward the Allegheny Plateau, Catskills, southeast of Syracuse, along I-81 and along the Adirondack Mountains. They usually begin to change first and they are.

Some areas near Tupper Lake are near their midpoint. So, we will see near peak or peak color within the next week or so for some areas.

Many areas though are beginning to change across the Adirondack region.

Toward the Rochester area, there are some patches of color across the Allegheny Plateau.

Next week, we will update you and we could possibly be seeing some leaves just changing in the Rochester area as well.
